I want to see the pumpkin!
Also, can you give me some tips on carving with a dremel?
ok, I’ll post a pic of it when we are done :) Just a fair warning…it’s a seriously nerdy subject matter….for which I will blame Patrick :) heehee.
Tips- hmmm…..let’s see.
1. Well, it makes a nasty mess with lil pieces of pumpkin (juicy ones too) everywhere, so spread out some newspaper or do it outside. (Also, keep a rag to wipe the surface with.) It was all in my hair, which could be good for split ends; the verdict is still out….
2. Buy different tips for the dremel. We made the mistake of just using one size for most of the carving, and it takes away from the detail. We needed a finer point for some things.
3. If you are going to gut the pumpkin and light it, you have to dremel much deeper than you would think for it to show up. But if you are just going to dremel on surface for decoration and not light up the inside, then you can do it as little or as much deep as you want.
I think that’s all I’ve got for now! I did another one where we didn’t gut the pumpkin, and I just etched leaves on it, so I can post that pic too. Good luck! You are artsy, so I know whatever you do will be crazy good!
