A guy and a girl and their danes

9 notes &

Let me apologize in advance to my darling Jen for posting this photo with her in it, bc I am guessing she’s not going to like it :)
However, this is the only photo I’ve found that kinda sorta shows my bedroom in my college (and a few years after) apartment.
I found the gold-green velvet headboard in a junk room at a salvage store for $25! My mom was with me and died a little over the fact that I was actually touching it, let a lone buying it. In her defense, it was covered in dust and dirt and cobwebs and other questionable nastiness.
I thoroughly cleaned it, added rhinestones in the buttons, and it was friggen awesome. I wish I still had it.
And let’s talk about my awesome closet (the fabric panels to the right.) It took up the WHOLE WALL. Do you know how much crap you can put in a closet like that! Oh man I miss it. Ok, I digress.
The apartments I lived in were built in the 70s, so they had these weird sliding metal door things, and they were a royal pain in the ass, so I took them down and put up the rod and the curtain panels. Voila! Loveliness.
I kinda miss the vibe of my super girly room with the rhinestones and the candelabra, and pink pillows with periwinkle walls, and the hanging turkish lanterns (not in photo)….
…P would give me the stink eye if I tried any of that now :) It’s so fun to reminisce about old places I’ve lived though!
